Alpha hit the ground with a thud but Barvo was alot light and managed to land on his feet.”I’ve broken my leg”yelled Alpha as he started to shoot back at the attackers. Bravo dragged Alpha behind a tree and pulled out his michine gun and fire a chain of bullets at the attackers, only two attackers were left and they were running to reload.

“Here’s our chance, can you walk?”asked Barvo.” I’ve got a broken leg what do you THINK!!!, watch out!”yelled Alpha as a grenade whizzed past thier heads. BANG!!!!!!!! the grenade had blown up a few metres away from them and had sent a shock wave that knock Bravo of his feet but the explosion had blown a hole in the gate as wide as a tank.”Yes” Bravo said to himself “Come on Alpha”yelled as he slung Alpha on to his shoulders and ran out of the gate and into the car.

Bravo had rented a flat in the outskirts of holland itwas at the top so it had a brilliant view but Bravo had chosen it because it was quiet and no one could here Alpha scream as Bravo healed his leg.” Your leg is bruised and stiff but not broken it should be okay in a few days, so you need rest”explained Bravo.” Okey” said Alpha reluctantly” Lets take a look at these files”.The files were all thank you letters from charity all rubbish and nothing that ment anything to them. But one of the files were full of recites from missle manufacturers.”Missiles? what does a charity giver want with missiles”said Bravo.”Maybe he didn’t get a thank you card from a charity”replyed Alpha.”House Keeping”said the house keeper from behind the door. As Bravo was about to open the door he heard a click that sounded like a gun being cocked, bravo quickly pulled out his gun it was a Glock h2h with a silancer put on the top he opened the door and shot to bullets in the mans skull. The man he’d shot was a thirty year old man with a revolver in his hand, Bravo had been right  that the man had a gun he quickly pushed the man in a cupboard and closed the door.” Alpha a man was at the door with a revolver I think we have to move somewhere out of this country they know where we live.

Tower Wood Day 2

Author: LeahA | Filed under: General News

On Tuesday for breakfast we had cereal with toast, sausages and beans after that. I had half  a sausage because I am not so keen on them nor the beans, Alex C had 3 sausages and some beans-YUM! Next ‘Nat’s Rats’ packed their bags with the essentials, then got on a mini bus and set of to Stickle Ghyll where we were going to ghyll scramble. When we arrived, it was baking hot (luckily we had suncream) but we all had to wear boiencee aids, helmets and kag jackets.

First we had a toilet stop, then we began our journey up the mountain’s river. Nat told us that the lighter coloured rocks were better to stand on since they were dryer and had better grip. At first, we tried to keep as dry as possible but it was very difficult. After a short climb Nat asked Alex C to stand under a mini waterfall. Alex didn’t know how cold the water was but soon found out! When it came to Leah’s turn she trip over a rock and banged both knees but still got completely soaked in the waterfall. Then we climbed up a vertical wall with no harness’! Leah and Sheryar were questioning Nat if we were going to fall and DIE! Luckily we didn’t and we all got up the wall safely but Leah’s knees were still hurting. We all carried on up the mountain river until we got to a still spring water pool. At first we were all a bit anxious about swimming and jumping in, nevertheless Alex had a small swim and told everyone that the water was freezing cold. After a few others had had a swim everybody lined up to jump in of a small rock by the bank. Mr How (The Behemoth) was always there to keep us safe and encourage us. Unfortunately it was time to go back down the mountain but we had a great time at Stickle Ghyll.

When we got back we straight away began to climb up a small mountain and we sure made easy work of it! We finished the walk in less that 3o minutes, a very good time. When we got to the top we had a team picture and cookie! Yummy! After that we began are decent down the hill stopping in a wood to play The Best Game In The Entire World Ever; camouflage. I bet your thinking how do you play that? Well there is someone on then they count to ten while everyone else hides among the grass or behind rocks and trees. They can’t move from the spot they counted in, then they look around trying to spot them if they can’t they show them the first set of numbers this will help because the  hiders will be popping there heads up to have a peek, if you can’t spot anybody you then put the second set of numbers up, then look around if you still can’t spot anyone you then shout “GO GO GO” then the people still left in the game run towards the person who’s on, puts their hand on the shoulder and says the numbers, if correct they are on.

When we got back we had tea which was Moroccan style chicken and rice with sweetcorn. For dessert was an iced orange cream cake which was divine, when you took a bite it was like having a taste of heaven. After that we played a game called head hunters which was really good! We didn’t come in the top five but we still had fun. A minute later we could smell burning-it was a campfire! Mr How was burning some wood to make a campfire so we could toast our marshmallows and we also drank hot chocolate. We had circle time round the campfire, then we walked back up to the house one by one, had  ten minutes whisper, after that lights off. Good night.

Tower Wood Day 1

Author: | Filed under: General News

Day 1

When we arrived at school with our stuffed, heavy suitcases we did a quick register and then got on the coach.  Hands were waving all around as the coach left for Tower Wood.  After our hour and a half  of sitting in a coach looking at the astonishing views, we finally arrived at our destination… Tower Wood.  Excitedly we all piled of the coach and grabbed our luggage, ready to go.  As soon as everyone was ready, we all walked up to the huge, beautiful house.  2 minutes later, we arrived at the house; we gently placed our bags outside the door and went into the Coniston room to get introduced to the instructors.  At the the end of the introduction, we got told what rooms we were in, what groups we were in and what instructor we were with.  Luckily for me, I was with Amber Balc, Abigail, Bethany, Leah, Georgia, Maddie and Autumn in room 1; I was in a group with Alex, Amber Balc, Maddie, Jordan, James D and Sheryar, with our instructor, Nat.  Our group name was ‘Nat’s Rats’!  After we’d been introduced, we went into the dining hall for dinner; we had some beautiful vegetable soup and some fruit for desert.

When our group was ready and our bags were packed we set of towards the boat house.  Our wetsuits were on, and we were ready for our first activity – canoeing with to canoes attached to each other!  As excited as we were, we had to do a quick teamwork game in which you had to run through the rope at the right time; first we did it individually, then in pairs, then all the the girls then boys, then everyone at once.  After that we did them again but this time we had to jump over the rope twice then go in; it felt great to know that everyone was getting on really well.  Our teamwork game was a success so we got kitted up, set up the canoes, got in at set of towards the middle of the lake.  When we reached the middle of the lake, we played a game; we numbered every one in each group, then number 1 and number 5 swapped boats, then 2 and 6, the 3 and 7, then 4 and 8; I fell in!  I felt freezing when I got back in the canoe.  After everyone had swapped back to their canoe, we rowed back to shore and got changed.  2 minutes later, we reached the house and went into the dining hall ready for tea; we had quiche and jacket potatoes, but I didn’t like the quiche so I had 2 jacket potatoes instead!!   Room inspection was after tea so we tidied our room as best as we could.  Luckily, we got 57 out of 60.  After room inspection everyone went outside for our evening activity – orienteering.  I paired up with Oliver S; we came last by miles!   When orienteering was over, we got in our pjs and went into the Coniston room for circle time.  We had to say who we thought stood out; I said Maddie because she was really good at being in charge of the canoe.  We were all very tired after circle time so it was time for bed.  Good night!!

Day 3

When we got up we did our usual routine. However, in stead of sailing first we did tree climbing. Maddie nearly got to the top but didn’t quite reach it. Alex M had a go and reached just under the the knobble .Next we went down to the boathouse and got kitted out for sailing in a yellow fun boat. We made up cool names like banana divas and percy pro. We went to the middle of the lake, then came back. Percy(Maddie and Alex M) came first (by alot!). We then went back to the house and had tea -mince pie (it was soooooo good!); for dessert we had orange cream cake. After tea we went for our evening activity – hide and seek then we went for a campfire . The campfire was really fun and we all sang songs and had marshmallows and hot chocolate . It was a great way to spend our last night at tower wood.

Day 4

We got up had our breakfast, got dressed for our final activity. Our activity was in fact kayaking. I could not get wet so I went in a canoe again.  Maddie really enjoyed it and Amber  really enjoyed watching everyone Kayak. Most people were really good at it. We did that pretty much all day . After that we did challenges to earn tokens , our group earned a token so that ment we were given materials to protect an egg from dropping from room 1 balcony. All the eggs survived . After doing that we got the last bits and bobs off what we needed to pack, then had tea-pizza, chips and salad. After tea it was time to leave tower wood .

We had a great expierience at Tower Wood and we have learnt lots .

Day 1

On Monday the 27th of June we set off to go on our adventurous journey to tower wood. On the coach we were all really excited and we could not calm down.  We were on the coach and the time finally came, we were at … TOWER WOOD.

We got off the coach full of excitment then the teachers started to unload the coach. When we got our bags we were shown to our room to unpack. When unpacked we heard a bell which meant it was 15 minutes till dinner. Dinner was the best ! We had home made vegetable soup with garlic bread. Yum! Yum! For dessert we had a lovely tray of fruit and yogurt. After dinner we got ready for our first activity which for us was canoeing raft building (we did some brain testers like running through a rope first though)  .It was really fun! Nats Rats (our team) came 1st (well first out of the children) . After Canoeing we went back to the house and had tea ; tea was Quiche with jacket potatoes (me and Amber wasn’t so keen on it though!). After tea we got our evening clothes on and we did our evening activity, orientereing. It was great. After that we went in and got our PJs on. After we had our supper( hot chocolate  and a cookie) then we had circle time and said what we thought of our first day.

Day 2

When the sun rose the next day we were up bright and early ready to go. For breakfast we had a selection of cereals and then the kitchen staff brought out some sausages and beans. There was also a choice of tea or fresh orange juice. Then we packed our ruck sackes (that we were gave to us by tower wood.) Next we set off to our adventure day. Whilst at our adventure day we did ghyll scrambling. Our group really enjoyed it . On the way back, in the van  we had a sing song with Alex  M singing .  When we got back to Tower Wood  we climbed side pike (a mountain).  Then at the top when we were full of proudness we got a cookie for achievement (YUM YUM!)  . Then on the way back we played the best came in the world-camourflouge, it was REALLY fun! When we finally got back to Tower Wood  for the last time we unpacked our ruck sacks, then had tea. Morrocan style chicken with rice and sweet corn. For dessert we had an apple and rasberry crumble with custard it was really nice!

Day 4

Last day today! L We did our normal morning routine and then went off to do our final activities. First we went kayaking across Lake Windermere. When we got on the bank at the other side of the lake, we played a few games on land and in our kayaks. One of these games involved running across the front of the kayaks. At first, Izaak’s boat tipped over as soon as he stood up, but then he got the hang of it. Autumn crawled across the back of the boats and just as she was getting to her boat she fell in. Kayaking back was easy because the wind was pushing us. We got back to the beach really quickly, and then we had a go at jumping off the jetty into the Lake. It was great fun, even Mr Hurst joined in. He surprised us all by doing a forward somersault into the water. We got ourselves into dry clothes and had lunch. After lunch, the whole class got together for some team games. First we had to complete challenges and we had to earn 40 points to get a token. On the back of the token, it said what we had to do next. Each team got a bag with a egg and some newspaper, crayons, paper, two bags, some tape and some string. We had to wrap the egg in the things that we had to protect the egg when we dropped it from the balcony of room 1. Our egg was called Ganga Bob and he survived! After our egg dropping competition, we had our last tea at Tower Wood. We had pizza and chips for the main course and bakewell tart for dessert. During tea, Mr How told us how his mum made him eat his tea at the table with napkins under his arms. We all tried this and most of us succeeded, but we all looked rather silly! Then sadly, it was time to head off home. Goodbye Tower Wood.

Day 3

Again we woke up, all looking drunk! Maddie looked more drunk than anyone else. Her hair was everywhere, her eyes were half closed and she was frowning. Downstairs we went to make our lunch and then had breakfast. For breakfast today we had cereal and toast again, but we had bacon and hash browns today. Then we went off to do our activities. Our activities today were sailing and tree climbing. First though it was sailing. We each had to pick a partner and I went with Sophie. We had to put the sail up but first we had to hold it. The safety boats pulled us out to the middle of the lake, and we had to sail back onto the beach. After that we had to put the sail up but with the boom this time. Again the safety boats pulled us out then we had to, instead of sailing back to the beach, one of the safety boats went to the other side of the lake and we had to sail in circles around the safety boats. When we got back onto the beach, we got dressed into dry clothes and then had lunch. After lunch we went tree climbing. I nearly got to the top of the tree, but I looked down and I freaked out because I’m scared of heights! The team got me down and then I was alright. Georgia, Autumn, Izaak and Zach were the only ones who got to the top. They are obviously not scared of heights! We then went back to the house to have tea. That nights tea was mince meat pie with roast potatoes and vegetables, and dessert was chocolate sponge with custard. That was my favourite tea! After tea we packed our suitcase ready for the next day, then went downstairs and went straight to the campfire. Again we toasted marshmallow, sang some songs and had hot chocolate and a cookie. We then had circle time and we had to say who has stood out in the group. I said Autumn, because she climbed up the tree as speedy as a cat and got to the top. Then we went back in the house got dressed and went to bed.

Day 2

We all got up looking like we were drunk! Everyone was tired and staggering around, hair all over the place. In our pyjamas, we went downstairs to make our sandwiches, got dressed then had breakfast. For breakfast there was cereal, toast, sausages and beans. Then we went off to meet our instructors for the days activity. For our day we had our Adventure Day. Driving down the country roads, for hours it seemed, we finally reached our destination. Right in front of us was a massive and I mean massive hill! We climbed all morning till we got to the top. It seemed like an never ending hill! We had to walk all the way back down again though. After that, we drove 2 minutes down the gravely road to  where we reached a car park in front of a gyhll . Then we found out that we were going gyhll scrambling! The water was freezing cold, colder than the Lake. Zach and Michael kept falling in and it was hilarious watching them bobbing around in the water! When we reached the jumping pool most of us were sooo excited. After jumping in, we walked back down the side of the gyhll, got into the van and drove back to Tower Wood. As soon as we’d got dressed, the dinner bell rang. We ran as fast as we could back to the house and sat straight down in a seat. The tea was delicious. “Room inspection” Miss O’Keefe called! A score for our room this time 58 out of 60. Closer still! We then went outside for a game of head hunters, which was hosted by Mr Porter. Something wonderful happened after that. We saw smoke rising from near the low ropes course. Running over, we saw that Mr How was making a campfire! We toasted marshmallows, drank hot chocolate, ate cake and sang some songs. Upstairs to bed after that. Lights off.

Day 1

When we stepped out of the bus, all we could hear was the sound of talking. We wheeled our suitcases up the hill to the house and went into the Coniston room. Andy, the Tower Wood director, told us which bedrooms we would stay in and introduced us to the Tower Wood staff. Bec’s told us a little bit about Tower Wood then let us go to see our bedrooms and unpack. The bedroom that I was staying in, was massive! It fit 6 bunk beds in but we only used 4. We had to have a fire drill, then after we went to meet our instructors. My groups instructor was called Keri and we named our group Keri’s Cherries! The dinner bell rang after that, and what sounded like a heard of elephant came charging down the stairs. For lunch we had carrot and coriander soup with garlic bread, and for dessert we had a fruit platter with yogurt. After lunch, we went off to do our daily activity which was rafting. When we’d built our raft, we got going as quick as lightening. We also got to the middle of the lake quite quickly. Playing games on the lake was fun fun fun! Callum was the first one to fall in, and then everyone else did as well. We were all shattered by the time we got off the lake. We came inside, got dressed into dry clothes and then went to tea. Tea was cheese and onion quiche with jacket potatoes. Dessert was orange cream cake. Yum yum! After tea it was the dreaded room inspection. Dun dun daaaaah!!! Our room got 57 out of 60. So close. We ended the day with orienteering hosted by Bec’s, and a hot chocolate and cookie. Supper’s finished. Off to bed.

Day 1

We arrived at tower wood at 10:30am , as soon as we got everything outside the house, we went into the conisten room where we found out which room we were in and who we shared it with. I was very happy with who I was sharing the room with.

First we found out who was in our group for the week, my group was called ‘Nat’s Rats’. After Nat (our instructor for the week) showed us around we built a raft out of two canoes, a log and some string. There were four people in each canoe so there was eight in a raft. In my canoe I had Alex C, Alex M and James D. To try and boost our speed, to try and beat the teachers, we figured we needed to row at the same time so Alex C started to shout “STROKE STROKE STROKE!!!” Then everyone started to shout it then we eventually got faster. In the end the teachers beat us back to the beach but we still came 2nd.

After that, we went back for lunch and we had a delicious vegetable soup with garlic bread and we had fruit and yogurt for dessert. Then we went straight to the lake for canoeing. When we had finished we came in and had tea. We had quiesh and jacket potatoes for dessert we had iced orange cream cake which was like taking a bite out of heaven.

For the evening activity we did orienteering. First we did a warm up looking for the blues then we looked for the reds which we had to find all 20 first and I won a tower wood keyring. After that we went to bed and had a good night sleep for the day ahead.

Scout Camp

Author: | Filed under: General News

Last Friday I went on a camp with scouts to Waddeca; it was really fun!! When we arrived at the campsite the tents were already set up so we put our stuff in the tent and got our sleeping bags out. Even though the girls had the most stable tent, the boys had beds in their tents! We weren’t very happy when we found that out! After that we had a look around and did some activities. When we got back we had supper and sat round the campfire, and then we went to bed. Unfortunately, that night there was a leak in our tent and the rain had got in; I woke up because I was covered in water. That was me up for the day, and everyone else, as I woke them up. The next day was pretty much the same, we could do activities all day; I got my face painted! That night there was a talent show and I entered it; I came second! As pleased as I was, I was in tears as I had heard that Oliver Smith had had an accident, and had to be took to hospital. On Sunday (yesterday) we got into teams and did a challenge competition; we didn’t win. We also had a go at the hundred challenge were you had to do something like 100 hand shakes or name 100 famous people and so on. If we completed that we got a badge to go on our shirts; everyone completed it. Overall, I had a really good weekend, apart from the accident.

My Holiday

Author: | Filed under: General News

Over the half term holidays, I went to Antalya, Turkey to a resort called Lykia World. The temperature was 33 degrees C every day. There were 5 swimming pools: Main pool, Activity pool, Children’s pool, Infinity pool and Slide pool.

Also, there was a Lykie kids club. There were different activities every day. These are just some of them that I really enjoyed: Table Tennis Tournament, Darts, Uno, Water Polo, Kangaroo Jumping and Badminton.

Every night there was a show at 9:30 till 10:30. My two favorite shows were the Circus and World Stars Music Competition.

Now onto FOOD!!! In the morning, there were pancakes, fruit, cereals, cooked breakfast and more. At dinner, there was fresh food all layed out on serving tables in the main restaurant, The Leziz. Tea was the same as dinner.

That’s all that’s to be said about Lykia World. I hope that you will want to go there some time!

B&D print services

Author: | Filed under: General News

On 17th of June a lady from B&D print services came to talk to us about her company, staff and what she does. At first we asked a couple of questions like how much money do you spend on paper a month. Suprisingly she was able to answer nearly everyone of them;the answer was in fact seventy eight thousand pounds a month on paper. They also use eleven thousand sheets of paper an hour. The lady toldn us about to different type of printers, one called a 2 colored machine which prints black and white and a 5 colour machine which prints 4 different colors and white(they count white as a colour at their comapany.) Also during an hour they can only spend 20 minutes setting up and 40 minutes working so in a full day they spend 480 minutes setting up and 960 minutes working. At their company they print things like brochures, bookmarks and lots more. I really enjoyed their visit and loved their bookmarks!!!
